Elizabeth Rosner

Q: Where did you attend college, and what degree did you receive?

A: North Georgia - BS Psychology San Diego State University - Master's Rehabilitation Counseling Ga State University - PhD Educational Policy Studies

Q: Did you go to your dream college?

A: No = not for any of my degrees = and I earned all three degrees taking only $1000 in loans total - graduating debtfree was more important than attending my dream college

Q: Do you think your college education was necessary for your success in business?

A: Most definitely

Q: Who or what led you to your current career path?

A: I was an employee for 35+ years - becoming an entrepreneur has been a HUGE mindset shift, requiring me to tackle a very steep learning curve

Q: Was your current career your first choice, or did you switch?

A: I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT

Q: Was mentorship significant to your business journey?

A: Absolutely!!!

Q: How do you approach networking and the building of professional relationships?

A: I list networking as one of my hobbies...I LOVE IT!! I love meeting new people, building rapport with those I know, connecting them with folks that will help them. LOVE truly is my brand.

Q: What is the ratio of males to females in your business?

A: 30/70

Q: Have you observed or been affected by a wage gap between men and women in your field?

A: No

Q: Have you asserted yourself as a powerful woman in your field?

A: Absolutely!

Q: What has been your biggest tool in gaining credibility in the business world?

A: While it's entirely possible for me to have founded my business without a specific degree, I believe that the PhD gives me some credibility. DrRoz has a different sound than Roz. That being said, I wouldn't tell a student today that they must get their PhD to do what I do.

Q: How does social media, if at all, impact your business?

A: Quite a bit.

Q: What is the best piece of advice you have ever been given?

A: Never go into debt for education

Q: Lastly, what would be the number one piece of advice you would give to your high school self?

A: Read Rich Dad, Poor Dad and realize that your mom's advice of "get as much education as you can and you can write your own ticket to any job" is well intentioned and outdated. Today's economy requires ingenuity but not necessarily degree(s).
